To create a try-out session, click on the “Create a Try-Out Session” link at the center of the landing page or click on the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the screen.
To learn more about creating a try-out session, refer to the content below.
1. Training Type
Select the Training Type: Initial, Recurrent or Other.
2. Airline/Operator and Crew Member Name
Airline/Operator and Crew Member Name are greyed out and cannot be edited.
3. Crew Member Ranks
Select Captain, First Officer or Seat support for the two crew positions.
4. Starting Crew Member
Select which crew member will fly first.
5. Start Button
Select the START button to begin the session or the CANCEL button to exit the session creation window.
6. Simulator Pairing
Selecting START will open the Pairing window.
Pairing with the simulator allows it to communicate with the instructor’s computer (or iPad).
A window may open asking for permission to use the camera, allow it to. If the window does not appear and the camera is not accessed, the instructor may have to change camera permissions found in the “Settings” section of the device.
Scan the QR code located at the sim iOS table using the camera or enter the alphanumeric code in the space just below the camera window.
7. QR Code Example
Above is an example of a QR code label found on a simulator iOS desk. Use the computer’s camera to scan the image or enter the Simulator code in the field at the bottom of the window. (Please do not use this code as it is an actual sim QR code.)
Pairing with the simulator establishes communication between the sim and the instructor’s computer via wifi.
Note that PAIR is greyed out and cannot be selected until a valid simulator code is entered.
The CANCEL button on the top right of the window will close the window and skip the pairing process. This is done when revisiting a completed session to review scorecards and pairing is not required.
